Collaborating for the Community: The Branch Visits with our Partner Second Harvest Food Bank
Recently, The Branch had the honor of presenting our work to the Second Harvest Food Bank at their locations in Camden and Smyrna.
Along with our Executive Director, Melissa, Three members of The Branch (pictured here!) were selected to represent the organization at the presentation. Safari, an ELL student from the Congo, and Heike and Arpon, long-time, incredible volunteers from Germany and Thailand, brought their unique experiences and perspectives to the table.
These three friends shared their experiences and journeys leading them to The Branch. They spoke about the challenges of coming to a new country and how The Branch provided a supportive environment that helped them integrate into the community.
The Second Harvest Food Bank staff asked questions to understand better The Branch's work and how we can continue to collaborate in the future to fight food insecurity in Nashville.
The presentation concluded with a tour of the Second Harvest Food Bank, allowing our team to see how the operation runs and gain insight into the their work.
We felt grateful for the opportunity to share their work with the Second Harvest Food Bank. It was an excellent opportunity for us to connect with our partner organization, also doing important work in the community, and discuss ways to collaborate further.
