At The Branch, we believe in the power of holistic wellbeing, and our Comprehensive Care program (formerly called Fresh Solutions) is a testament to that belief. Launched in June, this program has become a support for our neighbors grappling with complex needs.
At the heart of Comprehensive Care is our dedicated team of Care Partners. These compassionate individuals serve as one-on-one partners to our neighbors in need. Their role goes far beyond mere assistance; they become pillars of support and understanding, helping our neighbors overcome obstacles and embrace a brighter future.
In addition to one-on-one care, our Love Your Neighbor teams play a crucial role in our Comprehensive Care program. These teams provide relational support to neighbors and connections to community resources, which is critical for new immigrants and people in poverty to enhance their social capital, using an evidence-based approach for listening, goal-setting and empathetic support.
Since the inception of our Comprehensive Care program in June, we've witnessed incredible transformations and accomplishments. Here are some of the highlights:
100+ Connections: Our Care Partners have made over 100 connections with program participants, fostering meaningful relationships that serve as cornerstones of support.
43 Referrals to Community Partners: We've connected our neighbors with 43 community partners, ensuring they have access to the resources they need to thrive.
$5,000 in Financial Support: We've secured approximately $5,000 in funds and in-kind donations. These resources have been directed towards rent, utilities, clothing, medical expenses, computers, and home furnishings, alleviating significant financial burdens for our neighbors.
Education and Employment Opportunities: Several participants have seized opportunities for personal growth and self-improvement. One participant has taken nearly 50 English Language Learning (ELL) classes in just two months, while two others have secured promotions or higher-paying jobs. An additional participant has successfully secured employment.
Legal Support: Three participants have found their way to immigration lawyers, while another received a crucial legal consultation, resolving important immigration matters.
A Spark of Hope: Anecdotally, one program participant beautifully expressed, "the help you give me gives me a spark. It is helping me start over." This sentiment encapsulates the essence of Comprehensive Care – igniting hope and facilitating fresh starts.
